Achievements: Dani was the last to be born in a grueling 12 hour delivery. She came out kicking and squealing and the only ribbon left was black so she donned the black ribbon and the name Danica, a girl with lots of attitude and a will to finish the race. She captured our hearts from that moment. First time in the match ring, she captured judges' and spectators' hearts. Dani won the Puppy Sporting Group and RWB her first weekend out from the 6-9 puppy class and then snagged her first point two weeks later in Lubbock. Dani continued her winning ways with several placements in Puppy Groups and a Best Bred-By Exhibitor in Show.
Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, bone cancer, at 14 months of age. Since she embodied everything we love about the breed, we were devastated. I began searching for a way to keep Dani alive in spirit. Thanks to Suzi Beber of Smiling Blue Skies Cancer Fund, I was able to establish a fund in Dani's name at the Modiano Lab (University of Minnesota). Their focus is cancer research in dogs and children which is the perfect match for me. The contributions made in Dani's name honors my career in education and the love of all of my four legged children.
